Hello readers! We hope all of you are doing fine and have finally adapted well to this COVID-19 situation. (I'm still struggling, btw) So if you haven't, well, come join the team!

Anyways, here's a few updates from when we last posted:

1. Clumsy Baker Bakes is now up and running on FoodPanda (yes, THE FOODPANDA) and we currently cover all areas in Alor Setar.

2. Clumsy Baker Bakes is also available on this new app called: "Odamakan" (yes, it's super new and are only available in a few states in Malaysia thus far) Surprise! Surprise! Kedah happens to be one of them #yay So, do check us out!

3. Clumsy Baker Bakes is establishing partnerships with more apps, so stay tuned!

This time round, we're dedicating this post to all of you who are keen or super interest to start baking, but not sure what are the best channels out there to refer to! Below is a list of channels & websites that we personally enjoy watching and reading. We've also reviewed each website and state our fave recipe from them which hopefully all of you would be able to try out after reading this blog post!

Knock yourselves out!

No 1: El Mundo Eats

Reasons why we LOVE this channel and have ranked it as No 1:

It's super popular: 588k subscribers (so you know this channel is worth watching). Their videos are recorded very professionally with super fine edits, so you know quality of the videos are ensured. Their videos often incorporate ASMR features (I personally love them). Most videos are super short (avg. 3 min for desserts) so you know they're short and simple without any over-complications. They cover both Asian and Western recipes; both sweet and savoury! Range is also guaranteed.

Our personal favourite video: "How to Make Tart Shells"

No 2: Cooking Tree

Reasons why we LOVE this channel:

It's got 3.51m subscribers #wow . Slightly lengthier videos as they cover the steps more thoroughly. There's also not much talking which we believe is key for better concentration. It's an Asian based channel so be sure to find some very exquisite and fine recipes

No 3: Allrecipes

Reasons why we LOVE this website:

It covers a suuuuper wide range of desserts, from very simple and basic ones (for rookies) to sophisticated desserts. You can find any type of dessert for any type of celebration, weather, type of ingredients, food allergens, etc. It compiles recipes from a large number of users and each of the recipes are ranked and commented by other users, therefore allowing you to select carefully which recipes you think would be best. It only includes a very short review, so you can cut straight to the chase and start bakin'. The list of ingredients needed are stated in bullet points to allow you to view them clearly as well as print them out and set it up as a checklist and tick off the ones you have. Directions are kept in short sentences so you won't struggle with deciphering baking or culinary jargons. Here's a plus point: They include nutritional facts on the baked goods as well! #yay

No 4: bon appetit

Reasons why we LOVE this website:

Just take a look at the aesthetics of this page! #OML It also happens to have the best resources for quick-fix treats. It has slightly more complicated recipes, but hey, we gotta dive in to them once in a while!

No 5: Martha Stewart

Website: https://www.marthastewart.com/1502284/dessert-recipes

Reasons why we LOVE this website:

Duuuhhhhh, she has a baking channel as well! She's super well known and therefore you know you can count on her to come up with an incredible bake. She also includes a large number of unique desserts, which you wouldn't think of on a day-to-day basis so it's time to step out from your comfort zones and get bakin'

Okay, and there you have it! Our top 5 picks when it comes to baking! We hope you have find this post useful and don't forget to comment or DM us on any other suggestions you have! We'd love to hear from you.

Till next time!

Love,

The @clumsybakerbakes team
